I have never seen so many orange, traffic cones in my entire life.
And I don’t think I’ve ever heard so many people say, “It’s been smooth” in one day before. It’s like everyone in Hoquiam had a meeting. But for the most part, the detour — which threatens to cripple local logistics — has been maybe not smooth, but managable.
About 15,000 cars pass over the Hoquiam River each day, many using the Simpson Avenue Bridge — until Tuesday. That bridge closed for the next 10 weeks, leaving one two-lane bridge to carry U.S. Highway 101 traffic in both directions.
Anyway, here’s the first day it closed. And here’s the second day. Not too bad so far.
Enjoy another boring video of me driving.
For the record: This thing set a new record today for page views with a whole 41 views. I blame all the people I know who are realizing we all have blogs and now must check eachother’s constantly.
It’s like a fun version of cannibalism. Thanks for reading.
Seriously, Jacob. I can only assume you’re trying to outdo yourself with how boring you can make a video. It’s like a really mean joke on everyone you know who’s caring or stubborn enough to watch them all.
