How I caught Avian Flu

This is my first stand-up video piece. I can only hope that you will appreciate how frustrated I was with these birds.
It rained. I was sick. Goose crap was everywhere. I was in water up to my knees. And the freaking birds just kept moving farther away.
If you listen closely, you can hear them taunting me in the background.
It wasn’t a terrible assignment. It broke up the day. But I’ve never gone through so much to get such a mediocre photo. It’s sad.
Anyway, I changed clothes and headed back to the newsroom. Enjoy my misery. This is Jacob Jones for The Daily World signing off.
UPDATE: A site that monitors the spread of Avian Flu has linked to this post. For the record: I don’t have bird flu.
I imagine you feeling kind of like that one piece equipment (excavator? backhoe?) stuck in the giant puddle on Airport Road last year that you photographed. Glad to see they’re keeping you busy.
Oh man, that excavator was strangely fun to go shoot!
Ah, the randomness of assignments we journalists get. Looks like you got quite the interesting one. Could you post the photo(s) you finally got?
Good to see some more video. Perhaps you could invest in one of those Steve Smith cameras for better quality. Wouldn’t take much….

[...] I met Marian Bailey down at the boardwalkd, which is kind of cool. And much better than my last bird shoot. [...]
