In celebration of 100 posts — I’m going to start stealing ideas. This is where I work when I’m at home. This has previously been done by Lisa, Nick (twice) and some guy I don’t know named Andrew.
The number 100 has popped up a lot this week, but here is one more. Enjoy exploring my mess:
- My brother’s computer that is much faster, stronger and connected than my laptop.
- My laptop. It got me through college, but it’s fading fast.
- Random sticky notes reminding me of literary themes and journalism projects. One says, “He was lucky he was arrested. … He would have lost that hand.” I keep neighbors and picket fences outside.
- Personal digital camera. Nice megapixels, slow speed and it eats batteries.
- Blue tooth headphones for walking around town or jamming at the office.
- Playing cards for drinking games, poker or drinking poker.
- Wallet. Keys. St. Christopher medal.
- My latest purchase — a used copy of Scrubs Season Five. With the 100th episode.
- Where my phone would sit if I wasn’t using it to take this picture.
- Change for doing laundry. … I’ll be right back.
- Stack of books bought and borrowed including Behan plays, Orwell, a couple of Lisa’s books and “The Dog Fighter.”
- A stack of DVDs including three other seasons of Scrubs, “All the President’s Men” and the Die Hard Collection.
- Desk lamp my folks got me for the desk my dad built.
- Notepad for random window thoughts.
- My worn Daily Evergreen cap. Next to my scally-cap from Dublin. And Lisa’s knit beanie.
- Yesterday’s Daily World with the story about the church turning 100 years old.
- Old copy of Daily World that now serves as a mouse pad. For some reason it’s the Sports section.
- Copy of Construction Labor Report with Liz’s clips from this spring. And some CDs.
- I have a tape measure. Sometimes I actually use it.
- Computer speakers covered in punk stickers and CD labels. Probably older than any other electrical device I own.
- More CDs. A stack of instruction manuals for many of the above.
So that’s it for the desk. Nothing fancy. I also have a sophisticated system for filing my newspaper clips.

Congrats on making 100 blogs! I just might use the idea when (if?) I make it to 100 posts..
Couldn’t stop laughing at your newspaper filing system haha.
All the best dude! Hope you reach another 100 soon!
sophisticated filing system my ass, but a treasure trove for those of us who like to hunt down crossword puzzles!
