Special Report: Pink burns

UPDATE: Here’s the story on the fire we ran today.
So I was standing in a parking lot in Hoquiam this afternoon when I got an urgent call from one of my editors.
“We’ve got a fire with visible flames,” he said. An apartment building on the hill in Aberdeen.
“Alright, I’ve got my camera. I can head right over,” I replied. “Where is it exactly?”
He said it was on 9th Street — across from a park.
Weird, I thought. I live in an apartment building on 9th Street across from a park.
Oh crap.
So it turns out my apartment building caught fire today. No one was injured, but a couple units were destroyed. I haven’t been inside, but I believe mine is fine.
We’ll have a story on it tomorrow. I stood around and nervously took pictures while fellow reporter Rachel talked to all my neighbors in the pissing rain. I suppose it could have been worse.
Anyway, it was very strange. More later. Here are some pictures:

Wow. Poor pink apartments. Good thing no one got hurt; it would have made me feel bad since my first thought when I saw where this was going was relief that you gave all my books back.
So Lisa…your first concern were your books, eh?
Hmmm….
Talk about a conflict of interest.
