Mission

I am a reporter at The (Aberdeen, Wash.) Daily World who is hoping to tell the stories of Grays Harbor and its surrounding communities in new ways. This blog is intended to showcase multimedia journalism from the area and move beyond traditional reporting.
As I explore the tides and triumphs of these communities, so can you through words, pictures, sounds, video — pretty much anything I can get my hands on. My job should give me a decent excuse to get inside some of the more intriguing and exciting aspects of these towns.
Eye on the Horizon is my personal online laboratory for experimenting with new skills and programs. It is not associated with or reviewed by The Daily World.
This is learning by doing, so feel free to question. Feel free to laugh. Mostly, feel free to critique. I hope to capture, report, disect and discuss as many things as possible while learning more about the limits of online journalism and a little about the town in which I live.
Hello! I am a fellow Hoquiamite blogger who just found your site today. I also write and publish Sure Nail & Fire, a zine I distribute around the area. If you haven’t seen a copy, please email me with your address and I’d love to mail you one gratis. Alternatively, you can download the last two issues at the website, http://surenailandfire.com/
I love your blog and am happy I found it!
