UPDATE: Here’s the story on the fire we ran today.
So I was standing in a parking lot in Hoquiam this afternoon when I got an urgent call from one of my editors.
“We’ve got a fire with visible flames,” he said. An apartment building on the hill in Aberdeen.
“Alright, I’ve got my camera. I can head [...]

Evergreeners conquer state

Before I forget, an arson case against a WSU student from Aberdeen has had me working with the Evergreen newsroom again this week. Mostly with Lisa as she follows the story. It’s been nice — and somewhat strange — covering the same ground as all the Evergreeners.
But it also gives me hope that we can [...]

In celebration of 100 posts — I’m going to start stealing ideas. This is where I work when I’m at home. This has previously been done by Lisa, Nick (twice) and some guy I don’t know named Andrew.

At the top of our broadcast we have 22 suspected meth traffickers arrested in massive DEA raids across multiple counties.

I bought it over during the weekend. It’s about two Irish brothers in the Irish Civil War. It’s tragic, but has some nice moments and beautiful scenery.
To [...]

This is the most random online quiz I have ever seen. I enjoyed it quite a bit. It has no real value beyond amusement. Feel free to let me know how you do:

For the record: I found this link in Esquire, which I will always thank Nick for introducing to the Pullman house.

My brother — a dangerous man

My brother’s on the left, looking dangerous.
I think this is my brother’s latest trip to the Yakima Training Center for sniper drills. He has since gone to Fort Benning in Georgia and graduated from the U.S. Army Sniper School.
That fact officially makes him the deadliest person I know. Here’s some more pictures to back that up.
